Another successful Annual General Meeting, and this year it was at Burning Kiln Winery with some help from our friends at Long Point Eco Adventure (thank you Steve and Adam what would we do without you !!!)

All of our member wineries provided samples of their finest wines and members and guest were also treated to wonderful food from The Belworth House, The Blue Elephant, Twisted Lemon, Knechtel’s Beach House, Golden Leaf Estate Winery, Jensen Cheese and Picard Peanuts.

We look forward to another successful year!

Vineyard Study Group Session #2

Happy New Year! With the holidays over, it’s time to get back to learning. The OSCWGA Education Committee will be hosting its second series of the “Vineyard Study Group”

Feb 29th with Scott Jones, Vineyard Manager of Southbrook Vineyards and Kathryn Carter of OMAFRA.

The topic of the session will be vine pruning where Scott will take the group through the vineyard and demonstrate the proper pruning techniques as well as when is the ideal time to do so. Here are the details for the “Vineyard Study Group” session on pruning:

When: Wednesday February 29th, 2012 @11am-1pm
Where: Bosgoed Farm @1454 Front rd, St. Williams. N0E 1P0
Fee: Free for Members, $20 for non-members

London Food and Wine Show

We wanted to make a “splash” at the London Wine and Food Show this past weekend and we did. We had our new “Wine Trail” map, and we filled twelve booths with our wineries and associate members. Attending the show was the County of Norfolk Tourism, Norfolk Cty. Fair ~ Eat and Drink 2012, Carolinian Winery & Eatery, Villa Nova Estate Winery, Burning Kiln Winery, Blue Elephant Restaurant, Long Point Eco-Adventure, Wooden Bear L Winery, Golden Leaf Estate Winery (formerly Florence Estate Winery), Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese, and Rush Creek Wines! A good show was had by all
